Head of Nursing Services
The Nursing Services Department operates under the following units:
- ORL Specialty Clinic
- Female/Children Ward Male Ward
- Amenity Ward
- Accident & Emergency Department Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Theatre Unit
- Anaesthesia Unit
Equipment procured within the period under review: Nursing Services Department have been furnished with several equipment and instruments such as LED operating lamp, Tian-Song Endoscopic light source, LED head light, oxygen concentrator, monitors just to mention but a few through the goodwill of the Medical Director (Dr. Mustapha Abubakar Yaro).
Service delivery within the period under review: It is worth mentioning that during the period under review, the mode of service delivery was upgraded from the conventional trend of manual operation to a networking system of computerization of patients’ records and Nurses procedures. Furthermore, in order to give the hospital a distinct image, for the purpose of enhancing service delivery, the use of scrubs was approved for Nurses as uniform in addition to their white uniform.
The management’s creativity and passion for fantastic work place has really made a visible positive difference in the Centre within the period under review.
Structural development: There were several structural developments during the period as follows:
Amenity Ward: The ward was expanded from 4 room to 6 room ward to accommodate more patients requiring medical and/or surgical services, and a new office structure was erected for the Unit Head. All the rooms were furnished with state of the art facilities for patients’ comfort.
Female/Children Ward: The ward was repainted, the dressing and procedure space in the ward was demarcated to form a dressing room for privacy.
Male Ward: This unit was equally repainted and an air conditioner was installed in the office of the Unit Head.
Accident and Emergency Ward: Monitors were procured for each bed and the resuscitation room including oxygen concentrator and suction machines. All the wards were furnished with ultra modern beds.
Compound Nurse Unit: The Compound Nurse Unit also received an unprecedented attention the period under review with the construction of a befitting office, well-furnished with state of the art facility for smooth running of hospital activities by the Nurses after closing hours.
