The National Ear Care Center in Kaduna has announced that a medical outreach camp tagged “That all may hear.” The camp would be targeting the dwellers in the rural areas of Kaduna State.

Dr. Umaru Grema, the Acting Medical Director of the Ear center made this disclosure in his office to newsmen on Wednesday. He explained that the target of the medical outreach camp would be to assist the residents of Birnin Yero community of Igabi Local Government area.

The medical outreach camp will commence this month and would last for three days. Dr. Grema is confident that at least 800 individuals will benefit from the outreach within this period. The first day would be for consultations, examinations, and screening of potential patients that would require surgery. the last two days will be for the surgeries and dispensation of medication.

“We chose to give services to this community because it is part of our mandate to ensure that we extend services to an area like this to assist the less privileged. aside celebrating the World Hearing Day in March, we want to look at December too as a month for our medical outreach in Kaduna state,” he explained.

“This is going to be the maiden edition but we hope and intend to sustain it and do this annually because it is only organized by our institution”, he continued. “We want to help create a society that is free of diseases as well as to re-orientate the public on the sacredness and sanctity of human life as a divine gift and a fundamental human right that must be protected and preserved,” the medical director concluded.

Kada News Mag was able to gather that there are four doctors, sixteen nurses and ten supporting staff in the Open Air Camp team. Everyone is encouraged to go the nearest health center for early detection of illness before it becomes serious.
